Don’t underestimate the importance of a good CV it’s your crucial sales tool for getting that interview.
Your CV will be assessed by a potential employer in roughly twenty seconds, if that sounds fast – it is! You have twenty seconds to make an impact and that impact can affect your career path. Keep it short ideally on two pages if possible. What the employer really wants to know is why they should consider you for an interview.
The first page needs to have the most relevant information including a short personal profile and a brief synopsis of your most recent and relevant work experience. Follow on with additional work experience and relevant training, putting hobbies last. A short summary of your capabilities and / or a list of your major achievements can often be a good idea to include.
